What Makes Two Social Different from Other Axe Throwing Venues?

Most axe throwing venues are standalone throwing facilities. Two Social combines axe throwing with a full entertainment bar — retro arcade games, darts, shuffleboard, console gaming, board games, and a full bar with 10 taps. It's the only venue in Dayton that lets you throw axes and then immediately transition into other bar games or watch a game on the screens.

The lanes use digital projection technology — soft cottonwood target boards with high-tech projected overlays that score automatically and run themed game modes like Battlestations, Alien Invasion, Cricket, Bowling, and Blackjack. The closest competing axe throwing venue is Wild Axe Throwing in Beavercreek, approximately 10 miles outside downtown.

How Much Does Axe Throwing Cost at Two Social?

Axe throwing at Two Social is priced per lane, not per person.

  • Standard session: $40 per lane for 1–6 players (60 minutes)
  • Extended sessions: 90-minute and 2-hour options available at booking
  • Large groups: Book multiple lanes online for groups up to 32; contact us for larger private events or full buyouts

The bar is separate — drinks are ordered at the bar and not included in the lane price.

Who is Axe Throwing at Two Social Good For?

Date Nights

The competitive element of axe throwing naturally breaks ice and creates shared moments. Most couples who come in say it's the most fun date they've had in Dayton.

Groups & Birthdays

With 6 lanes and a full bar, we regularly host birthday parties, bachelorette parties, and get-togethers for 6–32 people.

Corporate Team Building

Axe throwing is one of the few team activities that feels fun rather than forced. Companies book Two Social for team building events regularly.

First-Timers

No experience needed. Our coaches walk every group through grip, stance, and release. Most first-timers stick their first axe within a few throws.

How to Throw an Axe: Beginner Tips

Our coaches teach every session, but here's what to expect before you walk in:

  1. 1
Grip loosely. Hold the handle with both hands near the base. A relaxed grip gives you a cleaner release than squeezing tight.
  2. 2
Stand 12 feet from the target. Square your shoulders, put your dominant foot slightly forward.
  3. 3
Bring it back over your head. The blade drops behind your shoulders. Rock your hips forward as you swing — don't step into it.
  4. 4
Release at eye level. Let go when your arms point straight at the target. The axe does the work from there.

Troubleshooting your throw:

  • Top of axe hits the board (over-rotation): Take a half step closer.
  • Handle hits the board (under-rotation): Take a half step back.
  • Blade lands flush: You're at the right distance. Keep going.
